Happy Birthday and welcome to Post HS life!

Bright and early the morning of his birthday, Krista and Tyler went to the X96 studios to hang out with the DJs while they were on air. They got fed, Tyler got to talk a little and mostly they just chilled.
Grandma was here for the big day - Tyler got two leis of his favorite tuberose flowers, but we were crammed into the Huntsman Center, with no extra time, so I didn't get any pictures of Ty, Al and Aaron all together.
I did get this shot of Tyler lining up just before he walked across the stage. And here is Aaron with his girlfriend Isabeau trying to make him look presentable. We did have front row seats for the whole thing. We got there early, pushed our way down as the previous school was leaving and saved seats for the Stillman-Williams and the Zweibel-Batson groups also.

Chaos ensued after graduation, along with a large amount of rain - typical this year for June - so we didn't stick around.

For dnner we treated ourselves to Benihana - okay, Mike treated us!

Alex's Walk, too.

And last, but not least, here is Alexander.

And now for Aaron

Okay, so these aren't going up in alphabetical order! But here is Aaron's walk for everyone to admire!

Walk Tyler Walk

Here is the long awaited video of Tyler's graduation walk. For some reason there is no audio, But the reason I didn't follow him for part of it was that I was screaming "Happy Birthday Tyler" as loudly as I could for part of it.

All Growed Up

Friday night was celebration time for our seniors. Margy, Kellie and I organized a party for many of the ELPers who joined our boys in kindergarten, 4th grade or 7th grade. We met at Wasatch Mountain Club, up by Brighton Ski Resort - and got a load of snow. It was not fun unloading the cars in the drizzle and up through the ice (I can't call it snow) - but once we got to the safety of the cabin, it was grand. It is a beautiful place with lots of room and dorm space on the second floor - nothing primative about the kitchen, bathrooms or heating!
We posted the pages from the 6th grade yearbook on the windows so parents and kids could see all of the year pictures and the dreams that the kids had for themselves in the 6th grade.
I think we had fourteen kids there, with at least one parent each. Plenty of food and lots of talking.
Marley, John, Isabeau, Taylor, Kristina, Ian W., Alexander, Charles, Selene, Chase, Ruth, Alev (hiding), Tyler, Aaron.

After a round of toasting, most of the parents and some of the kids headed home. Mike and I stayed at the cabin with eight of the kids and Kellie and Len stayed down at the Brighton Lodge. I am not sure that the Lodge was better than the cabin, but I bet they did get to sleep a little earlier than we did.

We stayed up and watched a movie - a very bad, but funny at times movie - and at about 1:30, we sent the kids upstaris to go to bed. SHHH - don't tell anyone, but we let the kids sleep in the same room - the only rule was that they couldn't share beds. There werent any couples there, so we weren't very worried. Once the overhead lights went out, things quieted down pretty quickly - we could hear every word and step through the ceiling, so chaperoning was easy - much easier than the sleeping part!
The next morning we got them up earlier than any of us wanted, but slow breakfast, packing and alot of cleaning and then hauling everything down barely got us out of there in time to get Tyler to work by 12! The boys did haul out the tobaggans to ferry things - and then they took the tobaggans the what was left of the snow on the ski slope!
And here is proof of John sweeping, just in case his mother wasn't sure that he knew how!
And no, these three are not waiting for the boys to finish playing - no, they are waiting to be first on the lift when the ski slopes open again mext winter!
